Pre-Class Response: Clarification

Oh dear! There seems to be a lot of confusion about the pre-class responses.

First and foremost. Please read the description for Pre-Class Responses on the Assessments page.

If you're still confused: Let me try to clarify.

The quote: Your quote should be from the primary source reading. This is the reading assigned for class under the "DUE FOR CLASS" section of the class page.

  • In this case, the reading is "The Birth of Hatshepsut."
  • The quote does not count as part of your 3-6 sentences.

The response: Your 3-6 sentences should explain why you think the quote is important or interesting.

  • Remember that importance and significance have lots of different meanings, so you can answer this part based on your understanding of importance.
